Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the human experience and expressed through the use of the human figure. Much of my work is based on how our mental responses are expressed in physical form. I focus on the physical side effects of anxiety, stress and insecurity. Through doing so I often disconnect the head from the body of the figure leaving it without a head and in turn without an identity. I believe this is my way of letting the audience connect to the work. While I identify the head as the location of mental awareness, I believe not having a head on my figures allows the viewer to make hat conclusion on their own.
